This collection was really an evolution. I originally had a set of designs I was ready to run with, but I was unsure of what my color palette would be. I knew I wanted to practice natural dyeing with fruits, vegetables and roots, but it was unknown what colors I would achieve. After many nights, color success and small failures, I nailed down a solid color palette.

However, those colors no longer made sense with my collection. I redesigned everything. I tried to keep the best parts of my original sketches and make them work with the new feel of my collection “Cleanse Me.”

For the new set of sketches, I looked strongly towards my models. I thought about what would look best on their body. It was no longer about dreaming up dresses and looks, it became real to me that I can make these women look beautiful.

Revised

I could not be happier with how the final result turned out. I feel that my color palette was one big happy mistake and not to mention, I learned so much during my natural dyeing process. I was happy to use fabrics I already owned; to give them life rather than sitting on a shelf. I owe so much to my models who make these garments come to life. The biggest compliment of it all is hearing my models say how beautiful they feel and how comfortable they are. I could not ask for more.
