ReVive Fall 11 Collection

A collaborative collection from designers, Missy Creed and Maggie Kaira.

Inspiration: Japanese Cherry Blossom

Concept: We wanted to create a collection that would appeal to fashion forward women in the Midwest. With Japan in mind, we also wanted to have some small part in the “Revival” of the Japanese people. All the proceeds from this collection were raised as a donation to the Springfield Sister Cities Association who will then use the money for Springfield’s Sister City Isesaki. Knowing that our audience would be varied, as our fashion show was held during the Japanese Fall Festival, we designed majority of the garments from the collection to fit a range of sizes. Skirts that can be made to fit with a drawstring, flared dresses that could be belted or left to flow, and capes that can flatter anyone.

These looks are a product of two designers with completely different aesthetics working together as a team to make one cohesive collection. Many of the garments are hand dyed, all of them are hand made and each piece is a one of a kind.

We raised money by holding a silent auction during the festival and following up with an auction online.

Hope you enjoy!
